Something from high school

I moved to Canada last semester of grade 10. During the last two years of high school, I spent most of my free time watching TV in my room while knitting or cross stitching. I made a few scarfs for practice and wore them ever so proudly! One of the afghans I made at the time could still be seen on our current loveseat.

In late 2009, when I moved out of my parents’ house, my sister really wanted the cross stitch project I had made. She was 10 at the time and she adored everything from my room! (make-up included) I remember she made a list of things she would love for me to leave behind for her and another list of what else she might need after she takes over my room!

At Christmas time we talked about how I got back into cross stitching and Santa brought a new pattern for me. We talked about the one I left for her and she asked if I would want it back. She mentioned it would be somewhere in her room and if ever finds it she would give it back to me for safe keep.

This past weekend she found it!

My dad brought it over at lunch time. It was a conversation starter at the lunch table as most of the people we have lunch with are Romanian and share similar experiences. They told stories about their wives or co-workers making these and then selling them.

I’ll just have to frame it for ‘safe keep’ 🙂

I'd love to hear from you
